Only One Day Like Today

First Day of Our New Adventure!

Filed under: Uncategorized — by onlyonedayliketoday @ 10:19 pm

The first part of the day was spent traveling.  Allie and Timothy slept for a bit:)

As soon as the truck pulled up to our hotel in Bremerton, and as Daddy put together a new “MCU”, guess what the Bowes critter-getters did?   Yep, they went crab hunting!   As you can see, they caught some big ones!

Here is the new “MCU” . . . the kids are carrying the little princes up quite a few stairs outside our hotel.  It is a cart for pulling behind a bicycle, but it turns into a stroller too.  We thought this would be handy for all the walks/hikes we plan on taking on this trip.  Then, in the future, we are hoping to do some family bike riding with it!

From 6-8pm, we were entertained with a latin salsa/jazz band right in front of our hotel on the waterfront.

Here are a couple giggly girls, drinking hot cocoa while swimming in the pool!

Joseph really enjoyed the fountain out beside the hotel!

In the right background, you can see a ferry.  There is a ferry terminal just past the hotel, so we can see them coming and going.

Right in the fountain area beside the hotel is a Taco Del Mar and a Cold Stone Creamery . . . two of our favorite eateries!  So guess what we had for dinner and dessert?:)   Do you see someone missing in the photo?

Kyle enjoyed his ice-cream . . . gameside, by the computer in the lobby!

And as I type this at 10:30pm, the family is watching “Nim’s Island” in our room and Kyle is now listening to the ballgame in its 11th inning via earplugs plugged into my computer!

And all this fun for a FREE night stay in a fully booked hotel (with a waiting list for tomorrow night!)   And considering Ted made this reservation just yesterday with his “honor points”, we think it is a real blessing from the Lord!

  1. Hi Folks,
Timothy sure is not a member of the Critter Getters. He looked like he thought the crab would bite him.
Joseph on the other hand seems to be working on becoming a Critter Getter.

Sure do love all the great photos. What a vacation however it looks like they have forgotten to bring the sun out.

The first picture of Timothy and Allie says a lot. Very good.

Love yoiu more than all the moisture in the clouds in Bremerton,

  2. Hi Grandpa!

Yes, we are having to break Timothy into the Critter-Getter Club slowly-but-surely. He is coming along nicely, but not quite ready for handling a big crab! And you are also right about Joseph. He doesn’t seem to have much of a concern about anything that has potential to cause him harm!

Glad you’re enjoying the photos. We sure enjoy your comments!

Love you more than all the lavender plants we saw today!

  3. Love the pictures. In the picture of Timothy and Allie, I cannot tell who is more content. They both look very comfortable.

I don’t blame Timothy regarding the crabs. I would not want to handle them either.

Love the picture of the giggly girls in the pool. Livin’ in the lap of luxury.

Hey Kyle, who finally won the game. You sure are dedicated to see and watch the game that long.

That MCU sure looked like it came in handy. Were you girls breathing a little heavy by the time you reached the top of the stairs?

Hope you have a wonderful rest of your vacation and a safe trip home. Much love, Meemom
